Our Story

The beginning of De Mon Coeur Great Pyrenees started in 2014 when we acquired a beautiful eight week old female puppy from long-time breeders Arlene & Phil Oraby. Arlene had a litter of puppies on the ground out of her beautiful, El Giselle Du Bousquet, and sired by Ch. Antonio Pyristamo, owned by Dr. Valerie Seeley.

“Splash” who later became Isadora Du Bousquet (aka “Dora”) was the one! It soon became evident that we had a very special girl—beautiful, smart, and great temperament. She brought her own unique personality into our lives and we immediately loved her!

Dora earned her Canine Good Citizen and Championship titles.  She became certified as a therapy dog and visits libraries, nursing homes, etc. She is my regular companion on hikes or visits into town.

The decision to breed Dora came from the knowledge that she is an exceptional ambassador of the Great Pyrenees breed.  In searching for a mate for Dora, those same characteristics—exceptional pedigree, type, movement, disposition, and health were sought. I’m happy to say we found all that in her “boyfriend”, Kody, an AKC grand champion.

Dora is a family member. She lives indoors with us. Her pups will live in our home with Dora and my family until they are ready for their forever homes. They will be socialized through interactions with us as well as with visitors.  Puppies are brought up with the same love we give to their mother. And when they leave they will still be a part of our heart, hence our name “de mon coeur”, meaning “of my heart”.
